Ithaca is a bountiful forest and meadow filled with wonders and mysteries, the most magical part being the horses that roam within. These horses rarely show their faces to the world outside of their home, usually only to quickly chase off unwanted intruders. The terrain is densely footed with healthy greenery that the steeds eat, and an abundance of small creatures lurk underhoof in their ideal habitat area. Several freshwater rivers flow through the north side of the land, while the southeast borders become sandy, seagulls flying above a large ocean. Of course, this herd also faces the dangers of the night, such as wolves that prowl the area in search of a midnight snack. Occasionally grizzly bears are found in their forest, however normally the horses are fast enough to escape these predators. The Lord of this pack may seem unforgiving when first meeting him, however this is only his way of testing the strengths, both physical and mentally, of one potential newcomer. Later one many learn that this leader is actually a pretty mellow stallion, only wanting the best for his herd.
In order to be accepted into the Ithaca Herd, you must wander into the herd's Border Outskirts and try to convince the Lord to let your horse join.

Lord Calcifer, Male, 10 years, Gypsy Vanner
|
Beta Phoenix, Male, 7 years, Akhal-TekePhoenix is a fierce, rather hotheaded stallion. He does not tolerate disloyalty or cowardice, and believes in the valor and courage of battle. He is a formidable opponent in battle, and bows to no one but Lord Calcifer, the only horse who Phoenix will obey. If you manage to win Phoenix's respect, he will favor you admirably, however. This stallion rather enjoys the thrill of battle, and prefers to settle disputes with physical fights. He has quite a protective streak, and will not stand for one of his herd mates to be threatened. Phoenix is a strong leader in battle, and rarely loses a fight due to his cunning and courage.
Phoenix is a blood bay, a rich copper color with a hint of honey. His coat is a bright red, and remains sleek and shiny throughout the year. His mane and tail are black, and his lower legs are as well. He has four white stockings, and a blaze on his face. His eyes are a fierce red-brown, and his whole body is toned by strong muscles. As an Akhal-Teke, Phoenix weighs about 1000 pounds and stands 62 inches at the shoulder. He is not the largest horse in the Kingdom, but what he lacks in size he makes up with speed and cunning. |
Phoenix was born into a harem in a land south of the Kingdom, and he lived with his parents and a few other mares until he was three. Like most colts, he was chased from his birth harem once he reached adulthood. Phoenix traveled north with a few other bachelor stallions, until the group was split by a wolf attack. He then wandered into Calcifer not long after, and Phoenix's respect for the stallion grew every day that they lived together. Lord Calcifer is and will be the only horse that Phoenix will ever obey.

Rogue Aria, Mare, 10 years, Curly HorseAria can be described as slightly princess-like. She spends a lot of her time making sure that branches and leaves aren't stuck in her unusual coat. She is respectful of other though, and interacts with others that are a higher status than her with the utmost respect. Her voice is quite silky, as is her coat, despite the curls.
Aria is a buckskin mare, the golden colour covering most of her body. She has four black socks, and black streaks that aren't solid rising from each of them up to her knees. However, her left hind hoof is white, and has a small white stripe above it before it continues on with the regular sock pattern. Her mane and tail are a shimmering black, and are slightly wavy to go with her curly coat. Between her two warm brown eyes lies a white star, which is not covered in any curly fur. Aria is 64 inches tall at the shoulder, and weighs slightly under 1000 pounds. Aria was brought up in a herd that drilled respect, loyalty, and being regal into every foal from birth. Her first steps were taken awkwardly, but within a few hours, she was walking with her head held high and her steps looking regal. Her parents loved her very much, and she grew up easily within the herd until she was about 5. It was then that a band of bachelor stallions attacked the herd, some fighting Aria's Lord, others trying to steal mares. Aria was caught in the middle, and roughly shoved away from her parents and herd. The bachelors were reckless however, and they were too busy celebrating their victory to notice the curly coated mare sneaking away. Aria ran, her strides long and powerful as she sprinted away. |
It only took a few hours for her to become completely exhausted, but she was far enough away that the young stallions wouldn't put in the effort to find her. It was then, and only then, that Aria could breathe a sigh of relief.
She traveled alone for nearly half a decade, dodging the attempts of lone stallions to get her into their herd. Now, she stumbles upon the lands of the Ithaca herd, prepared to join on her own will in a bid to find a family. . |
Rogue Tzevi, Female, Seven Years, Akhal Teke
Serious and sophisticated are two of the best words to describe this virtuous mare. With a very black-and-white view of right and wrong, Tzevi often takes it upon herself to discipline those around her when she sees it fit. She possesses very high expectations of both her herd as a whole and the individuals within it, and it isn’t uncommon for her to base her opinions on others based solely on first impressions. And if this mare doesn’t like you, she’ll make it explicitly clear. However, if somehow another being manages to work their way into Tzevi’s favor, her personality could change drastically. Though she’ll still be stubborn in her beliefs and unwavering in her pride, it won’t be difficult for her to share everything she has, from thoughts to feelings to a patch of grass she’s deemed delicious. The equine will also use her sharp tongue to defend them whenever they need (and deserve) it. However, it’s important to know that Tzevi’s friendship is conditional. If a friend of hers wrongs her herd or herself, she won’t hesitate to cast away the bond as if it were nothing. Tzevi has no experience with romance – a stallion has yet to catch her eye.
Shimmering just as brightly as her perlino coat, Tzevi’s beauty is the first thing anyone would notice about her. From her maneless head to her spellbinding blue eyes, the entirety of her physical appearance exudes delicacy and femininity. A blaze has been painted diaphanously along her snout, its white color surfacing only once more on her body: the long and elegant platinum of her tail. With a slim, fine build that puts her at the gentle weight of 930 pounds and her height at a rather short 57.2 inches, Tzevi has been blessed with the talent of endurance rather than speed or strength. |
Tzevi’s life began in a herd. It was a strict, uncompromising band of six mares and two stallions, but they were as close as any family. Rules and loyalty were the two most important things to these horses and Tzevi had a talent for the both of them. She was expertly capable of following rules and never got in trouble for breaking them… if anything, she enforced them. Quickly was Tzevi respected amongst her herd-mates, and quickly she developed an authoritative voice over them. At her mother’s side, Tzevi lead. She remained in power for only four years, though. Disease picked away at her family, and one by one horses fell. Once the plague had gone, only two remained: Tzevi and a stallion named Oli. Both of them angered and grieving, couldn’t stand the company. For a year now Tzevi has been alone, but a solitary life does not suit her.

Rogue Zahra, Mare, 8 years, Arabian
Strength of the heart and body, intelligent, agile, flashy, spirited, and yet fiercely calm, patient, and brave in confrontational instances with others, this mare a delicious treat to have as company. Hardly anything serves to annoy the mare to the point of snapping teeth or flinging kicks towards another. Her warm brown eyes serve to both shine her rather good-natured temperament and intelligence, not to mention her wit when the moment is right. Further delving into her appearance, this mare is 15 hh, or 60 inches, in height while weighing on average about 1,050 pounds depending on the season and amount of vegetation available. Furthermore, a bay color adorns major parts of her body until black points begin to form along her legs, the tips of her ears, and the tip of her muzzle. Spotting a black mane and tail, the only white on this mare is limited to a cornet marking on her left front leg, a sock on her right front leg, and a star, strip, and snip (seemingly a medium to narrow to large blaze). The only scars adorning the mare are minor and barely noticeable, having been won from kicks, bites, and scratches from previous herd interactions and rough terrain during herd migrations. Separated from her last herd by a band of bachelors, this mare seeks the safety and community found within a well-established and lead herd.

Rogue Selso, Stallion, 5 Years, Mustang
As a mustang this young stallion is only currently at 58.8 inches tall, though still growing. He aquires a fairly average build, having more of a muscle packed frame than anything. Also, according to his ancestors, the stallion doesn't have an incredible amount of weight on him, only normally averaging out to 870 lbs. Selso is an attractive male with a shortish mane and a rather long tail. This tail, consisting of cream and solid charcoal, very often drags on the ground as he walks, picking up things like leaves and grass. To him, it is an annoyance, but others may view it as amusing or elegant. The boisterious paint doesn't stress too much about his fuzzy coat, but he does tend to keep it fairly clean often. Apart from his figure, though, Selso has two beatifully colored blue orbs.
With a lightweight body Selso tends to use interesting tactics rather than strength to win his battles. Furthermore, the young male enjoys being a trouble maker. In other circumstances he can't help it, as he has no filter over his thoughts and opinions, something that his old herd never taught him. His previous herd, however, was a sort of royal bunch in the eyes of neighboring herds, like a group of legends based off of an ancestor of theirs that once belongs to Selso's old herd. Grace was taught into their bloodlines for genterations, and so although Selso is a bit of a child, he walks around like he owns a great bounty of rich soil. Straying from this character is basically only when he is messing around a lot. Because of his personality, the stallion often got in trouble by the superiors of his old herd, but he still respected them on many levels. Selso will only submit to superiors that treat him fairly, one of the rare times he will become intensely serious. In his old herd he did have his pearly blue eyes on one particular mare, but upon making a move he realized that she was off limits and owned by a bully of his whom he despised and fought often. Since then Selso is careful of who he shares his feelings with, not wanting to be torn apart from something he desires ever again. The stallion was born to a normal damsel of the herd and a stunning father with the rank of Beta. Because of his fathers high title, though he often got in trouble, his punishments were less brutal. |
Likewise the herd obviously never cared to teach Selso out of his challenging ways, only assuming that as young as he was he would mature. Never did that happen. Already mentioned, when he was 3 years old the stallion fell hard for a particular mare in his herd. The day that he made his move was the day that he was chased out. This mare had recently become mates with the Lord's son, a bit older than Selso, and he was always major rival to him. This same stallion visiously tore at his back as he ran from the scene, keeping at his heels until Selso was way out of the herds territory. He was never allowed to join again, as the stallion stood his ground angrily until the adolecent left. This situation is the only one Selso had ever experienced in his lifetime where he felt broken and uncared for. Within a few years he got over it, growing accustomed to the life of a Lone Spirit until recently deciding that he would try his luck in a new herd.

Chiquita, Mare, 2 years, Friesian
At only two years old she has not even begun to truly know the world around her. Old enough to know better, but yet still a little to young to care. She loves to get in trouble and just have fun. She loves to nip at the higher ranks and run off, though it has caused her to get into trouble many times. Her mother was a run away from the human world and had managed to be accepted into a pretty good sized herd. This way she was able to get into trouble within the herd without worrying so much about predators reaching the young ones. Her best friend growing up was a young mustang. They got into all sorts of trouble and she typically got the backlash for it. With her buddy being a year older, he was kicked out of the herd sooner. She had to follow just a few months back, leaving the herd to find a new place to call home. Her childish ways are hard for her to overcome, she loves to gallop, letting the wind whip around her heavy mane and tail. Her coat is coal black except for in the summer when the sun bleaches it out, the ends of her mane, tail, and feathers will always be a little bleached. She has no white at all on her and her hair doesn't have really any wave to it like most Frisians do. Both eyes are a deep brown and is built stout. Currently standing at 15 hands and 850 pounds, she will grow to be 15.3 and at least 1100 pounds on good grass. Being kicked from her herd has made her rethink her life a little, she knows she needs to try and curb her play for a more serious lifestyle, but it will show through at some point, most likely at the worst time.
