Lone Spirits are horses who do not belong to a herd. When you join, your horse will automatically become a Lone Spirit until accepted into a herd IC.
These horses are free to roam across five different territories, but they may not claim land for their own. Lone Spirits may create harems, which are small bands of horses. Harems will typically be led by one male and one female, but formal ranks may not be assigned. You may not refer to your harem as a herd, nor may you name your harem. As horses typically do not live alone, forming harems is encouraged for your horse's safety. Predators will prey on lone horses, the young, and the elderly.
Lone Spirits may wander into the Outskirts of a herd, and attempt to be accepted by the Lord, but horses found trespassing deeper into a herd's territory will be chased out immediately.

Nalu, Male, 6 years, PercheronThe stallion sports an oddly colored pelt of black, grey and white, such as dirty snow. His hair, however, is long and elegant, often hanging in his face to hide his eyes. Though this is how he likes it, others usually think he seems timid or held back. The male prefers being alone with his peace of mind or with small harems of one or two. It is highly uncommon to find him in large groups. Nalu has a strong frame and strong powerful legs, having him stand at a large 74 inches. This is mainly because of his breed, and as such he weighs around 1800 lbs. His aspects, however, do not particuarly benefit him greatly. He is averagely fast, perhaps even slightly below average due to the weight he carries, and his strength is only beneficial as long as his stamina lasts, which isn't too long. Even so predators have never been much of a concern to him, as he can manage well enough as is.
Nalu is indeed reserved, but not timid. He is not greatly talkative, and normally serious constantly. Since birth Nalu hasn't been much of the social butterfly, nor the flirty type. He walks his life enjoying the silence and peace as it last, occasionally craving the attention and companionship of others. Because of his relaxed nature, Nalu has grown to be quite observative, using the information he learns as education to further his wisdom. He is not old, but through his life he has learned an exceptional amount of information. Love isn't really a topic on his mind, but perhaps one day some mare may light up his basic world. Based off of his personality Nalu obviously didn't have a super crazy childhood. As a foal he was an only child, which is the typical story, and his parents were fairly average. The outside shell that horses see Nalu as are the qualities he got from his father, whom was similar to himself. On the other hand, a rare show of caring nature and love would come from his mother. |

Nevara, Female, 12 years, MustangNevara is an older, rather stubborn and grouchy mare. She prefers a simple life, enjoying peace and stability over honor, sacrifice, or courage. She is quite social, and could not live without her friends and harem-mates. Nevara loves foals, and enjoys spending time teaching and playing with the youngsters. Although Nevara is getting steadily older, she retains her sharp mind, and is quite wise. She is definitely a mare, and has the characteristic stubborn attitude of one. She is not a horse to be pushed around, and will always stand her ground. While she prefers not to play offense, when pressed she can definitely hold her own. She would do well as the lead mare of a harem, where no one could tell her what to do. But, despite her tough, hard-love mindset, Nevara has her heart in the right place, and generally means well.
Nevara is a Mustang, and she has wild blood in her. She has been free her whole life, and is a tough, strong mare. She is a smaller horse, only 57 inches tall at the shoulder, weighing about 750 pounds. She is a grullo, and her coat is a brownish-gray color. Her head and legs are a darker chocolate, and she has a dark brown dorsal stripe down her spine. She has a small star on her forehead as well. |
Caspian, Stallion, 7.5 Years, Marwari
Caspian is a hot-blooded stallion, and often makes reckless decisions without thinking before. He is quite spirited, and slightly vain. He really doesn't mind company, but is quite rude. Even though he has these flaws, he is known to be loyal to his friends, and family.
His fur has a light grey base, and layered over top it it are dark splotch outlines. They are more sparse on his torso, but on his chest, neck, and flank, they darken into an almost solid brown. Down all of his legs, the dark pigmentation continues, fully turning to black after his knees. Caspian's ears have the signature Marwari curl in, and are a solid black. His eyes are a dark brown, and they are slightly hard to read. His face has the signature white blotches, but as it fades into his muzzle, it turns into the same brown on his neck. He stands at an average height of 64 inches at the shoulder, and he weighs a light(ish) 830 lbs. Caspian was born into a small herd, far from the lands he now roams through. It held only about 4 to 5 horses at any one time. Caspian was born into the herd at around the same time as three other half brothers, as there was only one stallion. He grew up around them, making dumb choices and doing boyish things. The four brothers often spent time rough housing, and establishing dominance between the four of them. The area where the herd resided was almost constantly hot, and Caspianr soon got used to the intense heat. When he and his brothers grew older, the lead stallion kicked them out of the herd, as breeding lines had to be preserved, and out of the fear that four reckless stallions would try to take over his herd. All of the young males merely shrugged it off, and went on their merry way, their heads held high and their laughter loud for all to hear. Over the next few years, the bachelor herd stuck together, performing raids on other, more experienced stallions' herds, sometimes stealing a mare of two for themselves. |
The eldest of the four half-brothers claimed those first few mares for himself, and broke away from the bachelor herd to become the Lord of his herd, and sole protector of his mares. Those words were what he said to his three other brothers, and they all burst out laughing. While the eldest was ready to settle down, they were still full of life and party animal attitude, so they bid him farewell, making jokes about him and his small speech for the next few months.
One by one, the last two brothers broke away to start their own herds. Usually, Caspian and the rest of his half brothers would joke about the other brother among themselves, but after the last one left, Caspian was alone, and forced to start taking some responsibility. He was nearly 5 at the time, and he began a long journey. This journey took nearly two and a half years, and in it, the grey Marwari stallion crossed desert, forest, stream, and swamp to reach the place that he now wishes to call home. The scents of many horses drew him in, as well as the strong scent of other stallion's territory. He doesn't dare venture there, not yet at least. Maybe once he has gotten the lay of the land he will venture into one of the Lord's territories and steal his mares |
Rhona, Mare, 3 Years, Arabian
Rhona has a mature, self-keeping, high-class air to her. Though she typically stays quiet, when the topics of morals or politics come up, she is not shy to express her opinions. Other than this, she can be considered shy, and though not self-conscious, not exactly confident either. She is kind, but not a doormat, and will remain firm in her decisions. Rhona is really, despite her not-so-talkative nature, an open book. Ask her a question about herself and, typically, she will answer with the full truth. Rhona is a mare with nothing to hide, and not a large understanding of secrets. This does not mean that she cannot be trusted, she knows when to not divulge information. Kind and calm, she does not have a fiery temper or a sharp tongue.
This mare sports a tall, slender, graceful build. When she trots and walks, she appears more like a feather on the wind than a horse. 61 inches to the withers, but only weighing in at 920 pounds. While her size and speed doesn’t give her many advantages in fighting, she has a very dynamic body for running. She can run at very high speeds and with a lot of agility, partially due to practice with the terrain back home. Her coat is a cream grullo shade, a sort of grayish-buckskin color, smoothly and perfectly laid over her muscles. Her mane and tail are both short, but thick and shiny and jet black. Gray masks the end of her muzzle and nose, and she has a white star on her forehead, stringing down and leading to a small, white, faint star. She has dark grey socks on all four legs, and creamy-white and grey hooves. Rhona’s features are defined and sharp, and quite beautiful. Her eyes are a deep black, appearing slightly red in the sunlight. They are surrounded by gray, almost like eyeshadow, making her eyes appear smoky and intense. Rhona came from a herd that lived in a valley with forest, mountain, river, and meadow. A lot of running in the forests and along narrow, rocky mountain trails is what has given her the agility she has today. She watched over the foals and cared for them, and did, indeed, love them. |
However, as she got older, she began to realize most of what people cared about in this herd were making offspring and surviving. Stallions and mares all began to solely focus on who was to be soulmates with who, and stallions (expectedly, given her physical appearance) began noticing her in a different way than the kind caregiver. She began to avoid physical contact and conversation, knowing that it had no real point in a herd that cared about two such things. Not wanting to live a strict life about survival or stress about finding a soulmate so early, she left the herd, missed by many. She now is roaming the land, enjoying a carefree life.

Vieta, Stallion, 6 years, Mustang
Vieta has never belonged to a proper herd. As a colt his mother was a low ranking mare in a small herd. However as food got harder to find the herd had to find other means of feeding themselves. They ended up stealing hay from cattle and made the farmer mad. A group of ranchers got together to take care of this group. Most of them ended up wounded, his mother however was killed and fell on top of him. The riders kept chasing the others, figuring the scrawny youngster would die anyway. Vieta struggled free and stayed with his mother until nightfall when the coyotes came in and scared him off. It was a rough life the next two weeks until he was able to join up with another young stallion who had just been chased out. Now at a year old he had a friend. It made things a little better and even more so when another stallion joined their bachelor herd. Now with a group of three things were working out well. Being the youngest and smallest of the group, he was just tagging along. One of the older colts fought for a herd and won. Down to a duo, they moved along, recruiting another stallion or two here and there. He tried a few times to join or take over a herd and it never worked, he was on the small side for a mustang and had a large scar on his front right leg that kept him from being as good as others his size.
|
All he wants in life is to belong to a herd, not to lead, he just wants to have that company. He is a follower and laid back, not wanting to look for trouble, but also not willing to deal with youngsters as much anymore, they annoy him greatly. Since he lost his mother he has only been around mares a little so he knows next to nothing about dealing with mares and getting on their good side. The bay pinto is only 14.3 hands and at his best only 1050 pounds. Both eyes are brown and he has a backwards c between his eyes and a large wide snip on his nose.
